Maa Pattakhanda is presiding deity of Balliguda, Maa has been residing in Balliguda since ages.
 According to government publication many years ago people of Balliguda considered Mahasingi to the first seat of Maa Pattakhanda. The deity was first worshipping at jarasingha in Bolangir district then brought to balliguda, where she was worshipped  by the first Raja of Mahasingi.

The main weapon of goddess is Sword symbolizing strength, justice and power to destroy evil.Maa pattakhanda watches over town balluguda and protects and also blesses the town and with piece, prosperity and protection.

Temple opens all seven days of the week. At morning Early 5.00 am temple opens and closes

During Festival and specially Navaratri temple becomes chants, lights and decorates all market with full of flower and lights.

Recently last year Maa Patakhandas festival Yatra was held at balliguda town for one month from 6th may of 2025. and was continue untill 6th June of 2025.

Maa  comes out from temple for one month to temporay mandap and maa is being invite by devotees  to all streets and bless to the devotees.

People offers coconut, banana, lia ukhuda, variety of sweets to maa patakhanda as bhog.

Many bazaars, Meena bazaars, fairs

Maa Pattakhanda’s  jatra/festival  is held for a month. People come from far off places to see festival of Maa Pattakhanda. Many bazaars, Meena bazaars, fairs etc. are organised. This year Maa’s temporary pavilion has been set up next to Baraal Devi Maa. Goddess Maa Pattakhanda comes out every day for a stroll in the evening. She visits every street and blesses everyone. Devi Maa Pattakhanda roams from street to street with many bands, dancers and DJs.

Those devotees who cannot go to Maa’s temple, such as handicapped or old people or elderly people devi maa gives them darshan and fulfills everyone’s desires by giving blessings.
